Hotel and Travel


HPSR 2020 will be hosted at the Campus Center of New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), Newark, New Jersey. Newark is central New Jersey and is one of the oldest city in the U.S.  NJIT is the states’ public polytechnic university with a city campus. It is surrounded by other colleges and universities in the University Heights neighborhood.

NJIT is easily accessible by car, public transportation, or walking from the city train station, Newark Penn Station. The Warran St. light-rail station is right at NJIT.




The Newark Liberty International airport (EWR) is the closest international airport to Newark/NJIT. This airport is 4 miles away from Newark and 13 minutes by car.

John F. Kennedy International airport (JFK) is about 29 miles from Newark and it is highly connected to the world. JFK is the largest airport in the area and it is located close to New York City.

La Guardia International airport (LGA) is about 22 miles from Newark. LGA has a large schedule of International flights. This airport is also located close to New York City.

These three airports are easily accessible from Newark.


Newark Area


Located in one of the most famous metropolitan areas in the world. Attendees have rapid access to nearby world-famous landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Newark Museum, 9/11 Memorial Museum, Central Park, World Trade Center, Empire State Building, and many others famous destinations in New York and in Newark areas.

Surrounding NJIT, there is a wide range of hotels so that visitors could choose accommodations at suitable prices.

From Airport – Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is the nearest airport which is just about 4 miles from NJIT. From the airport, you can take a taxi (from $20$ to $30) to NJIT or to local hotels. Uber or Lyft sharing taxi may also be found if you have an internet connection. John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK Airport) is about 40 miles away from NJIT. It takes about 1.5 – 2 hours by train from JFK Airport to NJIT or to any aforementioned hotels. The ticket prices are about 10 U.S. dollars to get to NJIT that includes the following travels: Airtrain from JFK to Jamaica Penn Station or to Howard Beach station. Take E train from Jamaica Penn Station, or take A train from Howard Beach station to World Trade Center hub Transportation (WTC), finally, take Path Train to Newark Pennsylvania Station to your destination. Moreover, you can choose an airport-connection bus service from J.F.K to go to Newark Liberty International Airport.

Local Travel – Train services are available in Newark0 which provides easy connections to and from NJIT. Train services include NJ TRANSIT, PATH, and Amtrak are available in Newark.

Bus service is available for an easy commute to NJIT through NJ Transit Bus Lines: 28, 37, 62, 67, 107, 24 …
